Laidlaw Counseling LLC

Hello! My name is Mary Laidlaw and I am the owner of Laidlaw Counseling LLC. I am a fully licensed clinical social worker in the state of South Dakota and Idaho. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2016 with my Masters Degree in Social Work. I have a passion for working with children, families, and adults. My clinical approach is to meet clients where they are at and to take their lead. I am also trained in EMDR, TF-CBT, and Motivational Interviewing. Also at Laidlaw Counseling, we have Emily McAuley. Emily McAuley, CSW specializes in youth and children's mental health with an emphasis on helping neurodiverse people with ADHD, learning disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I am a former public-school educator, now a certified social worker, who is passionate about working with children, teens, and their families. I have experience working with ages 3-16. I am currently working towards becoming a registered Play therapist as well as being supervised by Laidlaw Counseling LLC (SD#6055) to get my private independent practice license. I am a South Dakota native who loves spending time with my family, being in the Black Hills, and getting lost in a book.
